Each painting in this series was created with layers of encaustic paint & imagery created from my hand cut stencils. They were inspired by a conversation I had with another artist during one of my workshops. Sometimes it’s the simplest thing or seemingly throwaway phrase that sets off a series-or series of events. I never know what will move me forward. The paintings get worked out as I paint-no grand plan just a compulsion to make something from a grain of thought and trust in the process. I’ve learned a lot alone in my studio. And even more from conversations with friends.
